    Rudder Shaft Seal

So I have been taking on water this year. Today I decided to figure out where it was coming in at. At home in the drive I filled the bilge full of water and I have a stream about the size of a pencil lead leaking by my rudder mounting plate and seal. It seems to be more from the plate than the seal.

Anybody done a rudder shaft seal lately? Also have some water coming by the paddle wheel on the back and a small drip coming from my drip less seal around the prop shaft, at least I am assuming its a drip less seal, from a 2004 22v.

Or is this just a packing I can tighten ?

    Thanks.

My 2004 20i rudder shaft wore out , and I had to replace the rudder and port, get under and grab the rudder and see if there is any play side to side or back and forth, it leaked badly, but also had 800hrs of hard use on it.
My boat has the packless shaft seal I would think yours would.

I have under 400 hrs on mine. There is a little play in it so I know the seal is gone. And it appears to be one I cannot adjust. Do you carry the seals? I will call in the morning.

      Thanks

None of the seals I have looked at on line look like mine. I guess I will have to dig into it a little deeper.

Up inside that housing on mine was an o ring that just pulled out , I never replaced it because it didnt leak till I had about 6 to 700hrs and the port was wore out.
