The weekend went pretty well. The wind was definitely a factor. Someone said 40 mph. The other boat owners decided to go to Grotto Canyon. We were bummed when we found that out, because the wind was so strong and the white caps were all over. Boats like ours sink at Lake Powell in conditions like that. We decided to go for it since we were going with the wind. We just keep the TAPS on wakeboard and the speed up around 20mph. We were still getting wet from the wind and the spray, but no water over the bow. The wind was less of a problem once we got up to Lance Chance Bay.

The wind was pretty constant for Thursday and Friday. The water was a little chilly also, 65?. My two children and I were the only ones to get in the water. We wore Spring wet suits. Most of the trip was to get the houseboat ready for the season. We did a lot of work, but I got a few ski runs in. On Saturday we moved the houseboat one canyon over, to Wetherill Canyon. The owner with the first week wanted a beach with some sand on it. Saturday was the best day. Less wind and smoother water. We were wearing our sweatshirts on the ride back to the Marina Saturday around 2PM.

All in all it was a good and safe trip. I just don't like the wind and the cold water. I learned I better come prepared on our week in July with some DVD's in case the wind stays constant like that, on our week in July. We have always been lucky with our July week. The weather has cooperated. I'll have to locate a picture we took in a canyon, from a Jet ski with this hanging rock.
