    New boat!

Finally pulled the trigger on a new boat and dropped the RZX off at the dealer today. 2021 25ZX loaded up with all the goodies. Getting ceramic coated and once that cures will be hitting the lake! How long are people waiting for the coating to cure? Dealer is having a local wrap shop do it and they said a week with ceramic pro, seems crazy long.
Give me a few days and I’ll do my magic and get some wave pictures.

Thanks guys! Love the colors as well.

The dealer was also questioning the 1 week waiting thing. Will probably give it 48 hours and make sure to clean up any water spots. I have access to a ri237 so not as if I can’t get out on the lake.

Go ahead and get some lead on order for the bow

Already have a ton of lead. When we water tested it I didn’t feel as if it needed that much compared to the rzx.

Congrats!! jmoore15 mentioned lead in the bow, however we just took delivery of our 2021 25ZX and for us we placed the lead in the rear lockers and under the long seats in the main cabin. We had a 2020 25ZX as well and that boat loved bow weight. I believe the new tabs are just enough different that weight distribution has changed from the GSA era 25ZX.

My 21 has the old tabs and the bow rides extremely high while surfing. To the point I have to stand up at times to see. I even checked to make sure my front ballast bags were filling. That’s also with taps on 2. Interesting that the new tabs would make it rude different.

jmoore15, yep I was surprised. We put the lead in the bow of the 2021 and the wave was terrible. I will also add the new tabs create a slightly different wave, more forgiving I'd say and almost taller at the back than the GSA tabs. We almost always surfed with the go setting at a wave 1 or 2 and the new tabs we are at a 3 or a 4.

Doc- how many in your crew? I have the 2021 25zx and find when we only have 3-4 folks I need some bow weight. Granted I’ve only got 25 hours on in the last month. So we are still trying to dial it all in.

We usually have a pretty small crew, 2-4 adults and a couple kids. I just took delivery last Friday and put 13 hours on it over the long weekend. We did go out with a larger crew for about an hour and the only thing I had to do was drop the wave to a 1 or 2 and speed up .1 to.2 mph, 2 adults were sitting in the bow and 7 adults in the main area.

It’s a 2021 but it still has the GSA tabs on it. I could see how the new ones might provide a little more lift. Going to be swapping them out to the new ones here eventually as would like it to be current for doing the odd demo etc.

Didn’t find it needed nearly as much bow weight as the first gen zx5 with taps 3. I hated that boat, crazy how things changed.

We have a 2021 21ZX and it’s our first boat so absolute beginners but we run a small crew of two adults and two kids most of the time and have 400 lbs in the front. Pretty nice wave. Tonight tried to surf at 11.2 to make the wave a little longer but I felt that it had less push at that speed. Went back to 11 and seemed better with my fat ***. 30 hours in and it’s a work in progress but we are having a great time. Love the boat.
