    cove cover install R23

I have a 2020 R23 and want to install the cove cover on the boat. I contacted my tige dealer which is a brand new tige dealer to inquire( my original dealer was only a dealer for a year and now they have a new new dealer) . They didn't know much but told me I need three different parts and didn't know if i needed to do any drilling etc. on the boat.

The dealer is over 3 hours away so is this an easy install? I thought maybe they attach to the rear cup holders somehow or do they need brackets added to the boat.

    Any insight would be great.

Not a big fan of drilling on my brand new boat unless self tapping maybe

The cove cover has two poles that go into holders that need to be mounted on the boat. Doesn’t seem like a tough project.

definitely don’t think it will work to put it in the cup holders bc of the tension on the poles when the cover is up.

We had our dealer install it over the winter. Drilling will be required for the mounts. Cup Holders will NOT work, as 25cents mentioned above. I don't think it would be a difficult project to do on your own. Our dealer had it done in less than an hour.

thanks yeah I thought it would require some drilling.. hopefully it comes with some instructions.lol

The dealer told me I needed three different parts and the total was around $700 supposedly shipped to my door but we will see.

That cost seems about right. I think adding the cove cover to our boat was about 800 list price.

                I did it myself.

Tige sent me some photos of where to put the inserts and on what angle.

If you watch videos online of how to drill or make holes in fibre glass.

Reverse drill through top coat and then drill through material. Know that you need to drill pilot holes and use hole saw to make this work.

I did this in my driveway in an hour.

I will send photos and a list of tools.

Get some marine silicone as well to help the metal brackets adhere to boat.

Worst part for me was trimming my gator step as it ran along the back of my boat where the brackets needed to attach.

                Love the cover works well.

I just bought a 2021 23RZX. Dealer said cove cover would not work on my boat but found out it would. I am trying to purchase but cannot get a dealer to respond to me. How do you like it. Does anyone have a dealer that is responsive? I am in VA. and there are none around me.

my dealer was marine max in NC but they only had tige for one year and was terrible from a service standpoint. Now charlotte ski boats is the new dealer and their service department is very responsive. try them.

I guess the old becomes new again, here is my 2002 23V. We can also run with this up or it has a zip down the middle to remove the back half if not needed.
