So I hit the water for the 1st time this year, I called Acme about a new prop. They suggested a 653 for my 2000 21i. We didn't have any ballast at this point we were just wakeboarding.
Hole shot was awesome, and boat ran fine w/ new prop. My question is the RPM's were really high compared to my 4 blade skiing prop. 35mph = 4700-5000rpms's and this was close to wide open. 22mph = 3200rpm's. Within 1 1/2 hrs of wakeboard (no ballast) went through about 1/4-3/8 tank of gas (hard to tell w/ my gas gauge)
Does this seem ok? Would this be to much torque for my transmission?
Thanks
I must add, I had someone w/ me today that was doing flips so the wake must have been ok, never seen this behind my boat before.
