Need help, Installing newly redone interior

    2013 z3

I just got my upholstery redone and will be reinstalling this weekend.

I would like to use all new hardware but want things to fit like new.

    What size screws are used?

Do I put anything on the screws so they dont back out? Loctite? epoxy?

    Thank you,

It's mostly all 1/4-20 studs. There's also a handful of 1/4- 20 bolts that use plastic spacers to spread surface area. 7/16 ratcheting flex head is my gonto tool for this job.

If you think seats are never coming out use nylnylock nuts. I prefer to use standard nuts and split lock washer and just get em good and tight. Dont over tighten or you will tear the stud out.

100%. I dont suggest lock nuts. My fear is a stud will come loose and turn. Now you can get the panel back off to repair as no matter which way you turn the lock nut, the stud spins.

Standard nuts and lock washers and big fender washers if no other backing piece is there.

I'm a huge fan of using Loctite 243 to prevent loose fasteners. Nyloc nuts suck when you get in a tight space with only enough room for one or 2 clicks on the ratchet. Lock washers are one more thing for me to drop in those hard to reach areas.
