New 2021 tabs

Has anyone had a chance to compare the new mid season 2021 tabs to GSA? Have heard they’re very similar and hard to tell the difference but have also heard the new ones put out a bit softer wave which is nice.
Looking at a 2021 25ZX with GSA and if it’s significant might try and get them swapped out.

My brother just got his 2021 25ZX with the new tabs, I have 300 hours on my 2020 25ZX and the wave is very similar. My daughter who rides goofy says the wave is slightly more forgiving on the new tabs but that’s about it. I don’t think there’s enough difference so I’d go for it!

Interesting that you bring this up. I'm in the process of drawing up a set for my boat (2017 RZX2). Basically the same thing I did for my RZX3 with GSA copies, but using the newest shape.

I originally took some measurements off a new Z3 with the "new" tabs. I don't know if there is a specific name for them to differentiate them from the original TAPS 3 or GSA tabs, so I've just been calling them the 3T tabs. I know 3T isn't a totally accurate description as the last GSAs used the new actuator as well. So anyways I took some measurements on a Z3 with 3T tabs, but in a rush I didn't get everything I needed. I went back a week later and found a 25ZX and grabbed the rest of the measurements I needed. When I went back and started drawing them up, the measurements didn't work out right. I was talking to Chris about it and he offered to grab some measurements at his dealer when he picked up his boat. He also took measurements from a Z3. His measurements conflicted with mine again. We concluded that these two new Z3's are running very similar, but different shaped tabs. The jury is out on the 25ZX. I can't confirm if it is different all together or if it matches one of these two Z3 tabs. I'll likely go back again this week and measure off a few different boats...if they have any still there.

My question is, when you say "new mid season 2021 tabs", what exactly to do you mean? I thought GSA was finished in 2020. So was there an original 3T design (perhaps one of these Z3s) and then in mid season they adjusted it (perhaps the other Z3)? Or are you simply saying going from GSA to 3T?

So you’re saying that the z3 is running slightly different sized tabs from the new ones on the 25ZX?

It’s hard to tell from the angle those pics were taken from. An angle more like this is better for seeing the size, shape and left-right mounting angle wrt to the hinge.
