I would also keep playing with the prop. A new transmission just seems like too much effort. I've never felt like you love the boat, with all the problems you've had. If you can't get the right prop, maybe it's time for a new boat. Not a good time to be buying though. I looked into a transmission for one of my old boats. Indmar wasn't too happy to send one. Dealer wanted something like $6k just for parts. You'd never get that money back in a sell.

The lean and bow rise is hard to compare because it doesn’t measure how far the hull is in the water. You can be 8* with just weight on one side and the wave will be trash.
Maybe I’ll order one and try it, but I won’t be able to mess with the cup, or I won’t be able to return it, if it won’t work, unless it’s close. I could have my guy pull an inch out of the pitch, too, but I hate to buy a prop for a grand then have to dump $500 into it, to have it not work any better. I was all stoked on making the switch, then Jim took some air out of my sails.

And that could potentially change a lot for me, because I’ve been doing nothing but trying to dial to those numbers.

I’m getting closer to loving the boat, but you’re right. A huge chunk of that has been dealer support, which I’ve walked away from the Tige dealer anyways. I spend 8 hours towing, 500 miles, just to have them deny or do a half assed job on my warranty stuff. Pay them close to double what a local dealer charges for services. They have been a huge chunk of my anger. Just buying parts and doing stuff myself has been a game changer. Our local Nautique/Sanger dealer is awesome if I need something, it’s worth just paying for, or doing myself.

I’m on the ultimate quest just to find a used gearbox or, especially just the gears. My memory sucks, so I’ll have to do some digging, but I think Paden told me if I went to the 1.75 or 6, whichever it is, I could keep everything and just do a gear, or gearbox swap. That’s a big difference. There have to be boats that totaled out, and those are still around, out there somewhere.

Now that I’ve completely learned this boat, and gotten it real close to what I want, coupled with half paid off, and the current boat market, I’m definitely not making any changes this year. Unless the market stays hot, and all our lake dry up, maybe I sell at the end of summer, and hope for a market correction next year. We’ll see. I’d like to have it all dialed in, either way, even if just to take someone out on a demo, to sell it.

Head to Powell. I hear they are finding shipwrecks all over the place now that the water is so low. I'll be there in a couple weeks. I'll keep an eye out.

I'll just drag the boat home. You can get all that you need.

Unless you’re struggling with with power I don’t think the prop will make or break the wave. I ran my 15” for a bit last year while the 16” was getting repaired and it was fine.

If you get a chance try and run with a small crew and see how the wave is. Shouldn’t change the cleanness too much but too many people really shortens things up. You can drain ballast but it never seems the same, mostly just because of too much mid weight.

The picture above is taps at 4 11.3mph 550lb pnps non surf side bag is probably 3/4 full. 600 lead in bow 200 in surf locker. He is riding in the middle of the wave and that is one of the flatter settings. Was going to look at the angles but totally forgot.

What I have the hardest time on this boat is flattening the wave out for ladies pro skim. Steep waves make a hard transition for tricks and you don’t want to sacrifice push.

For some reason that pic didn’t attach for me, but I would like to see it.

That’s interesting, because I have a big crew and lead, midship, thinking that sinking the boat is important. And I don’t think I’ve ever run that much bow weight. I’m at 350# now, and have been as high as 500#. I don’t struggle to get on plane with those big amounts of lead in the bow, at all.

I’ll up the bow weight, some, and throw the midship lead under the rear bags, and pull some of the locker lead. That could be a fairly drastic change.

What pitch were you running on that 15”? I’m running a 15”x 11”, and getting some rooster tail out of it, which I’m curious if that’s doing something to the surface of the water at surf speeds? Might be a whacko theory.

That’s weird. Maybe because you’re on Tapatalk you can’t see it.

I had a 15x12 whatever the stock one was. I hated running it when my 16 was down, rpms were crazy high and sluggish.

Some of that bow weight is under both sides of the windshield, so not all far forward.

Once the borders open up bring your boat up to the okanagan and I’ll get you dialled in.

I tried on Safari, too. Guessing something happened with the upload. I’ll order that 16” and see what happens.

Actually that would be a killer trip, and I’ve wanted to do a Calgary Stampede trip for a long time.

I would phone acme and see if they will change the cup and still be able to return it. Without removing cup i had a hard time getting low end get up and go. Also have a hard time believing the prop would make that big of a difference.

I’ll try again with the picture.

I believe I have my rzx dialled in as good as it will get. I regularly ride with the centurion fan boys who always bug me for having a tige but when they actually come out and ride they say it’s by far the best tige they’ve ever surfed.

Rode the 23ZX last week and it was super easy to setup evenly weighted but my rzx definitely had more power to it. Waiting to get out on the 25ZX this week before we pull the trigger.
