23zx vs 25zx

I’m contemplating going with a 2021 25zx to replace our 2006 24ve. I’ve been told the surf wave is better on the 25 and the wake is better on the 23zx. I need some advice from you all.

let me know why you chose yours and maybe what I might be missing

Both setups are basically the same and will have the 575 SC Raptor. Hoping to pull the trigger in the next week.

I can’t comment on the 23ZX but we upgraded from a 2006 24ve just like you to a 2020 25ZX and it’s amazing. The surf wave is crazy on the 25ZX. If you want to wakeboard the 25ZX is not your boat, the wake is not great for wakeboarding at all.

Awesome feedback on the surf wave. We don’t wakeboard a ton but the kids like to on occasion. What makes the wakeboard wake poor?

Can it be cleaned up enough for a wake in just one side?

We own the 23ZX and love it. Haven’t tried the wakeboard wave yet. Love the surf wave. I’ve surfed the 25X a few times... the surf wave was amazing! We just didn’t need that much of a boat.

you can kind of clean it up but the issue is your speed, like over 24 and it will be decent. Maybe someone has the formula for a good wake I don’t. If you want to see the surf wake look up @reecesherdan on Instagram. My kids switched to surfing really fast and this old guy broke enough bones wakeboarding that I’m fine to just surf!

Akdoc, what are you running for setup on the 25? One of the better looking waves I’ve seen lately.
I haven’t had a chance to surf a 25ZX with the new system. Also haven’t surfed a better tige wave than my fully dialled in RZX3 with GSA and lead.

We fill all ballast 100% and I add 400 pounds of lead midship forward to lengthen the wave. We usually roll with the go system at steepness setting 1 or 2. We ride between 11.3 and 11.6

Awesome! If we do upgrade the 25ZX is definitely on the radar.

We upgraded to the 23ZX last year and love the surf wave... Also decent ski wave.
We considered the 25, but too much boat for us to trailer with my 1/2 ton pick-up. My truck pulls the 23 nicely with the 6.2L engine.
