Apps Store for Tige Touch

Just an idea, maybe it is in the works, maybe not.

I would like to see a GPS map addition to the software. Obviously requires a little more than an app, but would be cool nonetheless.

Any other ideas? Any code writers on here?

There is a chart plotting option that is GPS driven and displays on the touch screen see your local dealer for the up grade.

Agreed that apps on the Tige Touch would be awesome! My concern is that the interface isn't open for developers. Having just gotten our new boat I haven't checked much yet - but I'd be all about developing some goodness.

When I hear things about "upgrades" for chart plotting - that makes me feel like we will be dealing with a limited platform, limited creativity, and expensive upgrades.

My advice to Tige would be to open development - that would really set apart an already amazing feature. How cool would it have been if Touch was running Android, imagine being able to run any of the Android apps from day 1.

Anyone found the clock on the touch yet? Not that I really "need" a clock on the lake, but sometimes it would be nice if we're squeezing in some sets and need to get somewhere.

Looks like Tige Touch is made by Medallion Instrumentation Systems http://www.medallionis.com/

It uses a combination of their MUX Power Control Module to control switching, a Stereo Interface Module, and their Viper System.

Only Reason I know is b/c I shopped again this year. Stopped by the BU dealer.... if I ever were to buy one I would only do it with the Illusion tower instead of an XS tower or the G3 tower. He had a customer with a used 09 that had the illusion with only 20 hours. I discussed GPS plotting through the maliview.... he said no available on that year. But it was on the 2010 models through a computer flash.

Point being is that, if it is available for the newer BU's, it's available for the Tige's. Same thing, just skinned differently. Same OS, software, etc.
