T Handle Drain Plug Seized Up 2019 RZX3

So I’m overly cautious about my drain plugs and the T handle style that you access under the trash can in the center of the of the boat that sits just in front of the transmission is seized up. The brass t handle is bending when I try to back out the plug. Any ideas as to how to get it out? Here’s a pic of the style of plug I’m referring to. I can’t get a wrench on it because the the handle and a pair of channel locks can’t get down low enough on the nut at the base because of the plug is slightly inset into the hull.

Some penetrating oil (kroil or something, not wd40). Use canned air (upside down) to freeze the base of the plug (try not to get the hole) then try to loosen it carefully. The freezing shrinks the plug, but may make it more brittle so you might forgo the canned air. Let the oil soak in for a bit.

You might apply a small amount of copper anti seize to the threads, but be careful because it will stain whatever you get it on.

Try and get a decent sized crescent wrench on it. Big enough to cover the T so it won't end up snapping part of it off.

At least yours is stuck in. Had a centurion get launched at a wake surf comp with 0 hours and nobody put it in. Another time a buddy of mine had his thread loose while on the water. Nothing like trying to plug a hole next to a spinning v drive while booking it back to the launch.

If any of the hex is exposed try removing it with a Crawford flare nut wrench, extension and ratchet. They can be had for short $ on Amazon or Harborfreight.

Crows foot socket wrench and extension so you can get on the hex at the top of the3 threads.

Even better would be a 5 sided pipe flare wrench, depending on what size that hex is. Think brake line wrench.

Just curious, why not wd40? I’d put some penetrating oil on it, let soak for a bit, lightly tap bottom of plug from outside/bottom of boat, then try removing it.

WD = water displacement. Its a great product that does a lot of things well, but is not like a PB Blaster.

Over tighten for sure. Like I said, I’m overly cautious when it comes to my plugs. I always have this fear that if I don’t tighten it enough, the vibrations from the engine and music all day could loosen it. It’s overkill and I know the likelihood of that happening is about the same as me hitting the lottery twice while also being struck by lightning at the same time but it helps me sleep at night lol
