The one closest to the photo I am surprised it didn't snap the shaft with how much the prop was rubbing the strut.

It may have. Record keeping hasn't been great. Along with a lot of other things....like maintenence. That's all changing now .

I had one on my '91 American Skier that looked about like the middle strut. My brother-in-law asked to borrow the boat sine I was working on a holiday weekend. He got the boat too far forward on a lift and the I-beams hit the shaft and the front tracking fin. The strut and fin were both mangled... bad. I spent a couple grand fixing his stupid mistake and he never offered to pay. Father-in-law did offer but it wasn't his mistake or boat so I said no thanks. The sad thing is that the boat never took on any water before that day and after 3 repairs it never did seal up to suit me. Brother-in-law has not been invited to the lake with us since then. I learned a few lessons from the experience.
