replacing the swim platform padding on top

I'm thinking of adding the new swim platform step and they say I have to replace the padding after peeling the old one off which cant be re used?? Anyone ever install a new pad or replace one? thx in advance :-)

It is easier to apply the new one than to take the old one off.

You will have to peel the old one up and it probably won't come up as one piece. Do you really need a ladder? The z3 platform nearly sits in the water when empty.

Why do you have to remove the padding to add a ladder? Is it because the ladder mounts using carriage bolts? What about just replacing the small area over the bolt head? Could make it blend well if you picked the right shapes and cut angles in pad......it be worth a try...maybe

couple guys on the moomba forums have added ladders and used 5200 with screws and have over a year on them with no bad results.
they are buying a model off amazon in the $75 range that uses a bungee to hold it up and when deployed it has 3 steps.

That might actually work. Similar to how the taps 3 actuators were screwed into the platform without thru bolting.
