    Smartwheel help please

My steering on my 2020 25ZX got really bad at the end of the season. The dealer installed a new steering cable but my smartwheel is loose. I was able to talk with Justin and he said the likely culprit is the screw in the picture attached and I can see at least the top screw is backed out a little. I have it mostly taken apart but the spline nut is on ultra tight. Should I try and break it loose with the steering wheel still attached or take the wheel off first? I don't have much play at all in the electrical cord for the smartwheel functions. We are in between Tige dealers here in my area, I know a new dealer is in the works but they aren't ready yet and we are leaving for a trip March 16th so I gotta get this fixed.

I always depin the Deutsch connector and pull the wire out so I can work. Otherwise let the rack come up against its lock and I usually hit it with my impact. 3/4" on a ratchet should work tho.

Thanks freeheel, so have the wheel turned all the way to lock then back it out correct. I imagine the Deutsch connector is under the little access panel under the helm correct?

Turn to lock and use its locked position while loosening the nylock nut. I know it doesn't feel right but haven't had any issues with this method yet. If yours is exceptionally tight then heat may be needed.

The Deutsch is under the helm. IIRC it is a female with a green wedge lock,, which helps to have the proper tool to remove but can be done with with seal pick.

I wrote up an emailed how to for this for someone else a while back. Could probably send it to you as well. Pm me your contact info if you are needing g more help
