Parks are closed as are most things
Government likes to control us now I think to see how much they can get away with

Guessing you’re in a more congested area, at least from what I saw in Idaho. Around Boise, we saw more masks than we did in the rural areas. Nevada is the same Reno/Tahoe and Vegas, you see masks everywhere. 95% of the state geographically, there isn’t a mask to be seen. The dumbest part of it is, casinos can be packed, and if you’re smoking and drinking, you can pull your mask down.

And that should be well within your rights as a business owner to protect yourself from liability. You do what you can, and if your employees don’t like it, they can go work somewhere where masks aren’t required as a condition of employment.

You will do WILL do what Frau Witmer commands here in MI or else! She seems to have a vendetta against small mom and pop type shops. Luckily I live about 2 miles from the Indiana line which is much more relaxed. I work with about 600 people, a handful have gotten it. Some say it was dreadful, some hardly knew it, but none was serious. The surprising thing is in so many cases I have heard of, one member of a household gets it, but no one else does, even the spouse that sleeps in the same bed.

                Day 2
Beautiful sunny day only three cases detected in 25,000 tests blue sky sun and we’re not allowed to do anything or leave our 5 km Radius from your house our government really touching us up
Or are they pushing the boundaries of how far they can push us so eventually they can control us like socialism
The next three days it’s going to be low 30s Celsius so will be interesting to see if people stay put in there homes and not get out and about

                      Day 4

                      2 cases in the community
                      2 in quarantine
And another beautiful blue sky day here.
I am just Wondering what our government will do when out winter comes alone.
One of the Vaccines has arrived here but I’m not convinced that they are completely safe as there has been a lot of people who have died after receiving it

I don't have time to make a long post, but have lots of thoughts based on my experience as a physician in and out of the hospital. Random thoughts in no particular order.

I've watched people suffer, some have died. It is sad to see. There are some things worse than dying.

The thought that those who are vulnerable should just shut themselves in is noble but works worth ****. That has gotten the USA with the highest death rate of almost any modern country. We are just too connected. 'Let the young people live it up and get the infection' they say. But those young people go visit grandma and grandpa, they work at nursing homes, they work handling your credit card. You have seen them rub their nose and then continue working on your Subway sandwich. They go visit the banker who has to work, but has comorbid conditions that put him at high risk, so he does the best he can, but still contracts the virus. It seems the word contagious doesn't mean anything to some people. It simply doesn't work to try to only isolate those at highest risk. Once the virus is everywhere, then it is everywhere.

The springtime lockdowns helped tremendously as far as the virus goes. It bought us valuable time to know the enemy. Survival rates are dramatically higher now than in the spring. It allowed summer to arrive and decrease transmission until the fall. It gave us time to find effective treatments. It helped flatten the curve and spread out the infections. Hospitals in New York were on the verge of complete chaos, most other places have never gotten to that place, and that alone helps death rates substantially. An overwhelmed hospital is a bad place to be. It helped us get PPE for healthcare workers. The biggest screwup in the US was the lack of testing early on in the course of the disease. The CDC thought they could make their own test and failed, even though a reasonably good test was already available from the WHO.

The vaccine is 95% effective, but even higher than that against severe COVID. Google the Israeli study on 500,000 people. It isn't 100%, but it certainly tilts the table.

In Utah, every physician I know was really worried about opening schools in August, but all of the data pointed to it being OK. We opened schools and they simply have not been the driver of the pandemic in Utah. Places where schools are closed right now are just plain stupid. The pandemic drivers have been close gatherings of large numbers of family members and friends. Our numbers easily reflect spikes after Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also see it after Halloween. The vast majority of older folks with it that I know got it from younger family members.

There will be something to the idea of 'superspreaders'. I have lots of patients where one spouse has classic COVID and the other doesn't even test positive. Yet one family I know had a family reunion, and 18 of the 20 people returned home with the virus. Probably most of the people spreading it do so before they have any symptoms.
                        Be excellent to one another.

We’re having 30 something cases a day, in a county of 500,000, and we’re at 35% occupancy. Still destroying businesses, and lives, although the vaccine is available, and being distributed. Guess we’ll just do this forever. Thanks to all the Californians that moved in, and put complete morons in charge of our state, y’all can go back home, any time now!!

They just announced that a single dose of the 2 vaccines that are in the US are 90+ % effective, which is pretty amazing. I had a good friend lost his mother to it today, so sad.
