    New boat time. need opinions and advice.

    Ok, need help as this will be my first wake surf boat. I think I have narrowed it down to two boats and wanted the Tige community to chime in. 2014 Centurion SV233 in literal showroom condition 120 hours CATS and Ramfill. vs 2017 Tige Z3 150 hours and about 13k more money. I know (only from trolling post for months) that both boats throw a best in class surf wake. Also I should mention that my suv is rated at 7k lbs towing so this was a huge factor in getting down to these two boats as they weigh 4500/4600 dry. My question is should I stretch for the newer Tige. I dont know what I dont know really so any input would be appreciated. Will surf 90% of the time.

    I'd be stoked with either boat. it would come down to color and condition for us but the 13k savings would likely have me leaning that direction.

        Recommend you test drive both, inspect both, then make the decision. The beauty of most people on this website is that most of us aren't going to brand bash. There's enough of that on other sites. You really should make whatever decision you believe is best for you. You will undoubtedly get some pretty bias opinions, but at the end of the day, they are just that.

          I hear you... thats what has been so difficult. I have spoken to three sales reps, none of them surf and they were just trying to get a boat sold, so they were absolutely no help. So I joined centurioncrew and tigeowners but your right, it can get very biased. dozens of opinions and only one guy had actually surfed a Z3. In his case he owns one and said he would put his wake up against any boat in his price range. He did mention not having the GSA on the 17 Z3 would be one downside.
          Im shopping boats that are ALL 150-250 miles away as there are almost no boats in South Carolina to buy/demo. So I hit the forums to try and get me to a point where I know it would be worth it to drive 4 hours to see a boat. Let me put this out there... I probably would of already bought the SV233 except my wife thinks it looks like my old fishing boat, and the boat sits low to the water and Ive heard the bow rise is terrible. The Centurion dealer swears not to be the case. If I didnt have the weight factor of needing a boat/trailer/gas to be under 7k lbs it would be easier as there are several boats near me that could work. If anyone can chime in on a Supra SA 450 as a good option; this year boat weighs 4600 and the wife loves the looks. thinking about driving the 2 hours to demo.

            I love my Tige, but when I look for a new boat I will consider a Supra. I work for a non-inboard manufacturer and I like their quality.

              The enzo will surf great out of the box assuming it has the large factory ballast, but those boats do like to run listed rather than a gate, or you could add some surf tabs which would work. It is also going to be a bit shallower than the tige but being a deep v it will handle it like a champ. The tige being a bit newer will get you a much nicer touch screen and for me, the biggest feature being built-in surf system integrated into the computer, or the ability to run GSA off the screen.

                I have a 2019 R23(same hull n weight as Z3). You’ll want at least 600-900lbs of lead to get an optimized wave. I run 900lbs and have TAPs3 plates. I towed with a 2020 Ram 1500 and the truck handles fine with some lead in truck and rest left over axles in boat. I towed it once with my wife 2016 suburban with some lead in truck and rest in boat and the suburban was not safe. I had to stop twice and move weight around to reduce the sway

                I’d be careful about your tow vehicle being an SUV, especially if you run lead. No lead and our suburban is probably fine. In my case, it wasn’t a tow capacity issue, but rather a payload issue. Don’t remember the numbers, but the boat tongue weight alone maxed out capacity. Add luggage, lead, suv full of people, some lead, and groceries for a weekend trip and I was white knuckle driving for 2.5hrs.

                  Guys... you have been so helpful. I just reached out to the z3 owner. Keep everyone posted. Also, going to see a 2020 Supreme S238 that the dealer just gave me a good quote on but hear its hard to get enough weight in that boat to throw a useful wake.

                    The s232 is a good boat but when the ZS came out it wasn't nearly as popular. I've surfed a few 238's and the wave is definitely a little on the flat side but it's not bad, you just need to list it over a little bit to clean up the top face. I would go z3 or fs just to get the tech

                      Ok, the z3 sold... The Supreme needed too much weight to dial in the wake and now not sure what to do... There is a 2020 ATX-22 (50 hours) for sale 5 minutes from my house that he will sell for mid 80's. The early reviews I just read seem to rave about the surf wake and love the surf system... anyone have thoughts. There is another 2018 Z3 that the dealer will ship me. same price mid 80's. If its your money... and you love to surf would you have a preference between the z3 and a almost new atx22?

                        You'll get a better out of the box wave from the atx, but the z3 is no slouch with a good bit of added weight.
                        For me the deciding factor between those two would be the interior. The z3 interior is a completely different class than the atx and it shows.
                        Really just depends on what's more important to you, creature comforts or wave.

                          Sonic is dead on. Interior in the 2020 atx is what pushed us away. Was too spartan. 2021 has walkthru and a few other changes that would have made it more tempting.

                          Hours on z3 would be a discussion 4 us.


                          If you go z3 budget 2.5k for gsa. I bet you will want if you primarily surf.
