    2008 RZ2 surf set-up

Just bought a 2008 RZ2, no ballast. Primary focus will be to surf and wondering what I need to do for ballast and/or prop to get it setup. Beginner surfers so not sure how big a wake we need? Are there sacs that will easily fit in the storage compartments or will sacs specific to the rz2 need to be ordered?

Thanks for any help, I’m definitely out of my element as this is my 1st boat.

Get ahold of Mikes Liquid Audio on here and he can set you up with the proper ballast bag setup. I can help you out with a shaper for the side of the boat as well as a custom taps plate that will help out a ton as well .
    surf till u die.

Can you post a picture of your custom taps plate? Does it work on a 22v?

I highly recommend upgrading your prop when upgrading ballast for surfing.

Mike can provide a ~1200lbs bag for both rear compartments and if I remember correctly the bow can take a 400 on each side but may not fill all the way. A shaper is a must and you really don't need to break the bank on one.....I made mine for $25.00. These boats also need to be listed when surfing.....like damn near to the rub rail to get the best wave. Depending on elevation a 1235 prop (near sea level) and Fresh Air Exhaust.

How did you make the shaper? Or is it a secret lol that’s fine if so

1.0 was just HDPE that I had gotten from another member. 2.0 I took the wifes older cutting board to make the front plate larger and added reinforcement as it was starting to buckle from the larger plate size. It was even larger but I cut it back down a bit. Suction cup handle can be bought online for cheap.

I've never used a nauticurl or others but this has worked very well for me with no complaints.
