It would be a maybe. A friend I did a wedding for, that goes to the lake with us a bunch, let it slip that he’s planning on buying one for me, as a thank you. Not sure if he’s already shopped it, or what the deal is. I’ll talk to him.

Would it count for this group buy if i purchased the flappers and stainless mufflers, I already have their FAE. Id like to get the flappers after reading situations that have occured.

Ok. Just talked to Christian and she will offer us a group buy. The discount is $50, but will bump up to $75 once the 6th order is in. Once 6 or more orders are in then everyone will get the $75 discount. The way it will work is she will set a date range of 7-10days for us to get the orders in and when you order, you just apply a coupon code that will be posted here along with the dates. So everyone will submit their own order.

I do not have Facebook, but if someone wants to post on Facebook that a FAE group buy is coming that would be great.

Christina will work with the shop to see when to offer the group buy and she will email me and I will post updates here.

You can go to their website to get idea of costs for your boat. For my 2019 R23 I plan to order the option that mounts to existing exhaust outlet and add the option for the flapper. The flapper will be welded inside of the pipe up near where it mounts to the exhaust outlet. This option is $500 + $40 for the flapper. I do not plan to get the blended welds as that will weaken the welds plus blended the welds is an extra $40. I’m sure there’s tax added. I do not know if shipping cost is extra.

I will ask, but I saw an old post on the Malibu forum that replacement mufflers do not count towards group buy.

Their website has R20 as well. I’m sure it’s the same install process, just slightly different bracket geometry

Factory does have a flapper in the pipe when ordered with FAE. Theres a welded cross with the flapper on downstream side in the pipe.

Is this what you're talking about? My boat did not come with FAE from the factory, but this is in there. I'm sure this is good enough. Can't imagine any water getting past it with enough force to still get in the engine.

Thats the baffle that goes in without FAE. Was saying with FAE there is a flapper. Theres a cross/ + welded in just down from flange that has a rubber flap bolted to it.

Oh, ok. So a stock FAE boat has both of those? And that flapper is actually installed on the FAE and not in the exhaust hose like the baffle is? Anyone have a picture of the flapper that FAE installs when you order it? I wonder if one is better than the other?
