Need Advice on purchase Tige 21i

Im looking for advice from the Tige Family. I am about to purchase a 2000 Tige 21i, low 250 hours, tandem trailer and good condition. It has the factory tower and center engine and seems to have been well maintained. (no salt water)

Looking for advice of what to look out for? Is this boat too old?? I read they had tower issues??

Can I get a decent wake with a surf wedge or Fat Sac for my kids??

    Thanks for the help.

250hrs is hyper low. My first concern would be how long has it sat? Even if it ran 12.5hrs p/yr, it would have had to sit for extended periods every year. At the very least, the fuel tank would have to be fully douched. If it has the factory Metcrap tower then yes, the tower sucks. With low hrs on the boat though, it’s probably in great shape and will do the job for a little while. Just know that it’s a terrible tower. I had one for a few years and changing it out made a massive difference. Any pics of it or an add perhaps? What’s the owner say about how it’s been used?

So far as surfing, one of the best DDs for building a surf wake. It won’t be amazing but can be quite respectable.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. From what I know the boat gets used only 2-3 times a year. Serviced each year. I am looking at $17,500 to buy it. Thoughts on price??

The market is out of control right now with COVID. Just wondering if is better to wait till spring for things to cool off??

If it has in fact been serviced every year, drive it. If it’s been maintained correctly, it’s basically a new boat. I have low hrs on my boat and it just clicked over 700. Price is dependent on condition right now. To quote the guy who bought my camper this summer,”NADA don’t mean **** right now.” He bought it knowing it was way over book but, something clean and well maintained has a premium on it.
