06 24v won’t start in neutral.?

I’m having trouble starting my 2006 24v while in neutral. It will only start if I hold the key in the start position and move the throttle handle from forward back into neutral. I know there’s a sensor on the transmission, can I fix this by changing that sensor?

There is a switch on the transmission itself. You should be able to adjust the cables at the transmission so it makes contact again.

Both wires were oxidized and a little rusty. Cleaned them up and starts great! Thanks for your help.
