Thoughts on just rim(no tires) size for trailer to put in garage

I have a 2020 R23 with 14 inch rims and the power tower. When collapsed i need to gain 4 inches to get into 7 foot garage. I'm taking off the WB racks etc. and the trailer needs to stay hooked up to my truck to back it in.

    1. looked at letting air out and only gain 2 inches
    2. dropped tongue and let air out and only gained 3 inches but not way to back into garage.
    3. looked at raising the door but due to location and load bearing wall i don't trust anyone trying to change it out, plus much more expensive,

So I read online of people getting wheel skates and putting just rims on the trailer and then backing it into the garage. Once in the garage I have 8 foot ceiling and can put the normal tires and rims back on.

question: Do i need to get 14 inch rims or can i get 13 x 4.5 rims to use while on the wheel skates?

    thoughts or ideas?

Do you have 4” underneath the cross beams and prop guard of the trailer to even go that low? That will be the deciding factor.

Another thin you can try is take the front wheels off and drop the tongue to the ground and see how much lower that makes it.

luckily I do have 5.5 inches but I took the front wheels off and it might work so i'm going to try that before i do the 4 rims. I will post pictures when i put it up for the winter.

      thanks for the idea

That's pretty wild. I have an r22, Boatmate trailer with 14" rims. It fits in my 7' garage with an inch to spare.
What is hitting? Tower? Does your garage door open all the way, above the top of the door frame?

it's a power tower so when it's all the way collapsed the tips of bottom of the tower is too tall. MY garage door rolls back into my basement so plenty of room going under the door. It's hitting the top of the garage with all 4 tires on it.

Now on my 2010 RZ2 it would fit in my 7 ft garage like you are stating with about an inch to spare but the R23 not so much with the power tower.

Do you have torsions or leafs/walking beam for suspension(guessing leafs but worth asking).

If you have torsions you can re clock them on their splines and lower the trailer. No such luck with leafa/walking beam. Back when dealers could option trailers we got torsions. Now Tige gets the trailers from Boatmate and they all show up together.

Yeah, everything is like that now.. it's whoever has the best volume discount..lol Also, not sure if this is from boatmate or not but on my 2020 trailer it has Chinese trailer tires.... that stuff drives me crazy... no way i would trust them if i lived back in Texas with the heat and temp of the roads... In Tennessee not nearly as hot.

I will post pics once i start the process of putting into my basement..
