    2000 21v Riders edition

Hey Everyone! Excited to be here and I really appreciate any input you can give me.
I’m an experienced cable wakeboarder making the move over to boat riding. I’ve been saving money for a few years hoping to find a boat that will suit my needs. I’ve found a 2000 21v Riders edition... it has around 500 hrs. They’re selling it for 13,500 USD. I will need to give it a tower, ballast and a swim platform. It looks to be in really good condition. Is the asking price suitable for this boat?

Wow! A clean, unmolested 21v. That thing is frickin unicorn. Ya, 13.5 is totally reasonable. Just the fact that it has nothing on it or in it ups the value IMO. Score! Does it have a trailer?
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Nickypoo thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it. I was thinking the same thing about it not having a tower etc! Yes it has a trailer which is included in the price. Its a private sale... should I ask to go for a test drive or how does it usually work when buying a second hand boat?

Looks like a great boat for your needs and is priced well. I would for sure test drive it on the water. Then there won't be any surprises.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. I hope it works out for you.

Seems a little low on the price just based on I sold a 2004 19ft inboard/outboard last year for basically that price. Looks real nice though!!!

Excellent price,in this market you have to wonder why?

            Certainly lake test it.
Check the oil level, the vdrive oil and transmission levels.
Looks for any milky oils (water intrusion)
            Check the TAPS works

in general just look everything over really well to make sure you don't find something problematic when you get it home.
it always helps to take someone else with you who isn't invested in the sale. They are more likely to notice things without the new boat goggles that buyers get.

Good point on the price being a bit low. However, most people in the market right now see it as a boat with no tower and no ballast which makes it no better that a basic I/O in their eyes. For someone looking for a tow boat and knowing that the tower on that year was horrible and that modern ballast setups are far superior to anything installed 15 years ago, this is exactly what I would be looking for. You can drop the coin you saved on a nice tower and basic ballast and have yourself a great wake boat without the pita of an aging used up set up.

With only 500hrs on it, every bit of it should have plenty of life in it. For sure drive it and it would be worth a professional inspection as well. If the drivetrain and systems check out, buy it.

Price is good, pretty tough to get into a V-Drive for less. We purchased a 2000 2100V Limited last year for a similar price tag. Best of luck!
