    Stuck in surf mode?

New to the Tige family...have a 2019 ZRX2. Tried wakeboarding the other day, and it kept sticking in surf mode, no matter what I did, so I couldn't go faster than 11. Finally drained the ballast, then it seemed to work. Anyone else experience this?

Surf mode as in surf tabs were down and creating a surf wave or meaning the boat just wouldn’t go past 11mph?

If you are running full ballast and pnp with a smaller engine and no quick launch you most likely will not get up on plane.

Likely just too much weight in the boat if dumping ballast was the only thing you did that made a difference. If it was settings or computer issue it wouldn't matter what weight you had in there.

Both, I guess. It was basically stuck in surf mode, even though I made sure the Taps3 button was off. Maybe I need to wait to fill the ballast? I did that first, then couldn't get past 11 mph.

Take weight out of rear ballast, set center plate to 1-2 to get on plane, then adjust center plate as desired.

Also, make sure your bilge is staying dry. If you are packing around extra weight there it can cause big problems. If bilge is wet and you have a 400 or 440 check your oil

Was the cruise control off? or set above your surf speed?

Free, why 400 or 440? Are these engines more likely to let water in somehow?

That would make sense. The drive belt picks up water and throws it on the air filter. The 575 has the filter at the opposite end of the motor so it's out of the way. Would still have to be a lot of water to get to the belt. I had my inlet filter hose come loose once and it flooded the bilge. The engine started getting hot and we had no power to get to speed do to all the extra weight. Water level was still a ways away from the drive train, which stayed dry. Maybe there's more to it than that?

Pretty much nailed it. 460 doesn't have the belt water slingage issue either because it has a different intake that move throttle body and filter further back. Some models would take less than others.

It does take a good amount of water, but less when you are stuck in the hole bow high and all the water moves to the back of the boat.
