I hear ya. Its a catch 22. My home has gone up 60k in value in 3 years because of the influx....and of course so have the taxes.

I'm sitting at Turners right now watching this G25 drag the Nissan back with brakes locked on the launch. Launching in the middle of the two lanes.

I don't know the numbers, but from what I read, the manufacturers are building more boats than ever before. 2021 build slots are filling up fast. The lakes will only get more crowded. The new boats wont go away. They may change ownership, but they will still be in the water. Our only hope is that covid buyers don't sell, and don't use them. Unlikely.

I think most owners get out of boat ownership honeymoon period after about 1.5 seasons. Then they either sell or just don’t use them much.....a small fraction actually use the boats consistently year after year

freeheel4life In case you haven’t seen enough mayhem... here is the latest version of Malibu beach-ed that happened a few weeks back.. guess this guy rented his boat out to a buddy who ended up doing this. Or at least that was his story.

Oh the SS prop era of DD boats. What a way to destroy as much stuff as possible from a slight impact. I still get calls from people asking if they should upgrade their boats to SS props. All the crap you see freeheel always blows me away.
Oh Yeah!

I was about to say "Well, at least the prop bent and didnt hurt anything too bad" then I noticed the massive gash above the prop and I realized the shaft strut, and everything else is bend like a paperclip.

Also, back to the 'bu. I just noticed the tracking fin is ripped out and water is gushing out of the middle of the boat. OMG...

Insurance....

Good eye Brent. I hadnt noticed that. The strut on the stainless prop Tige bent so far it allowed the prop to auger into the glass. Im thinking its at that point the prop shaft sheared at the coupler, which was really a small blessing.

When we have new ouboard or stern drive owners that want to switch to stainless I encourage them to stay aluminum. Lower units dont hold up well to prop strikes with stainless in my experience either.

Is this you, Ute? Looks like a pretty boat.

That was not mine and clearly I need to turn on the alerts as I’m responding 7 months later.

Update: we’re going to be doing Hawaii and Disneyworld so it’s the perfect summer to sell the boat. It’s at the dealer getting some final warranty work done and should have it for sale next weekend.

I was at my dealer in December and they had over 40 boats. It was packed and all were for sale. Went over last week and they only had 20 or so in the showroom.....1 was available for sale, 15 were sold awaiting delivery and rest were pending credit check....also 4 of next 6 builds slots were sold....only 3 used boats on the lot as well.

I’d say the market is hotter than last year ......

I probably shouldn't say what I purchased my 2017 rzx2 for last September, but I was talking to my dealer a week or so ago about the market. He suggested I wait till may or the first of June and list it for $115k. Thought it would probably sell pretty quick for $110k. The thought of making that much money on a used boat almost blew my mind.
We really like the boat though so it’s a tough call. We have a crazy busy summer though...
