    Surf wave

    Hey
just recently picked up a 2018 rzx3 and am trying to get the wave dialed in for surfing. Finding that I get a massive curl right where you would like to be riding the wave. I have been running 100% in my ballast and added 300 pounds of lead. Taps are set 6/3 running at 11.1 speed. Any ideas on how to push back that curl. Thanks

The magic numbers seem to be 4/4 to 4/3, but the big thing is to get the boat at 4-5 degrees of list and about 9-10 degrees bow high. Get those numbers by moving people and your lead. Leave the taps numbers alone. Increase your speed to 11.6 to 12. Use your phone or a digital angle finder. Put it some where you can measure the boat flat, like in the marina, with no ballast or people in the boat. Zero from there and then measure again in the same two spots while underway surfing. You'll be really surprised at the difference. It's really dumb that Tige removed these measurement readings from the Clear screen. They are a must have.

Also, make sure you’re getting full deployment and retraction of your Lenco actuators as you may have the recalled actuators and not know it. My 2018 RZX2 had faulty actuators that had to be replaced (from water infiltration). You can test the actuators in dealer demo mode (code I think is 9191).

I’m guessing that Removing the accelerometers that measure angle of pitch and roll was probably at patent infringement issue.....I can’t image it was a cost savings or technology implementation issue.......

I bet that going a little faster fixes your problem. Start there before you do anything complicated. I would move up in .2 MPH Increments and see how the wave does for you. I have found several manufacturers want to show the biggest wave possible, even if it is too short. To do that, you go slower and the wave gets really tall, but the pocket isn't long enough. It looks better for people that don't really know how to surf, IMHO.
          Be excellent to one another.

Post a picture with the speed and we can work from there.

I am a firm believer that the rzx3 hull needs a ton of added bow weight. And with that you can also run too heavy in the rear, if you have a boat load of people and full ballast your wave will actually fold over sooner.

I have the same boat. Do you have the PNP bags in the rear? This is my setup, it works every time. Fill all of the bags to 100%. Drain the rear non surf side down, start at 80%, Surf between 11.5 and 12, the faster you go will lengthen the wave. If you need to clean it up drain the offside a little more. The taps numbers mentioned above are pretty close, if not spot on. Have people sit on the surf side to help list the boat.
