Bamer, great points. The thing I hear a lot of lately is "My Tige has an issue" or "This Supra is lemon" or "How does MC have issues with ballast tanks".

End users don't realize or care(nor should they have to IMO) that the builders are mostly only building a hull and deck and vinyl in house. The rest of a lot of your list comes from outside suppliers.

Wet Sounds had a bad run of amps that squealed when a capacitor got hot.. Lenco had actuator seal failures industry wide(yes some were worse than others based on geometry). I dont know who rotocasts tanks for MC but its an issue. I get towers in from GereMarie on MC that need fixed on a PDI as soon as its unloaded from the truck(caught on a PDI as Mike mentioned). We all know that both Medallion and Murphy touch screens occasionally need replaced. Indmar got a bad run of cats from their supplier. Ilmor has a mandatory service bulletin for hoses that are defective on the new 6.0MPI currently. Some Skiers boards have bag fittings fail because the hoses didn't get enough relief and rip the port out of the bag. Have customers that bought MB/Centurion/Axis from other dealer that still come back and pay despite warranty. Just had an ignition relay fail on an 19 Axis and diagnosed and fixed it a 630PM in the parking lot.

I could go on and on. My end point is about the same as always. Everyones poop stinks. Even mine. Really just depends on who's making the poop disappear and how quickly and efficiently AND get it covered under warranty. Hoops to jump thru on the dealer end and IMO Tige is our easiest brand to deal with getting warranty parts/claims covered so people can get back on the water. Dealer support is make or break for the end user and this is a prime example.

Sorry for the rant and my .02. Just that time of year for us grunts that want everyone boating happily. To the OP Im genuinely bummed that you arent happy with your boat.

I bought 2019 Malibu and had a lot of issues with almost everything ( $170k boat) dealer was great fixing all manufacture bugs , I sold it and bought ATX ($90K boat) all work great and build quality is much better , 30hour so far and no issues. Wake surfing wake is not as Malibu but we love wake boarding wake a lot more !!! What I'm trying to say you just got a boat build by bad workers - maybe they got too many boats to build and quality goes down!! Your dealer probably have a lot going on like never before so you have to give them time too.

We had issues with our '17 RZ2 from the factory but dealer took care of everything. Sucked with the back and forth but got it all fixed. Even came to our house to do the stereo programing that got missed at the factory (DSP amps that year).
This year ordered 2020 22RZX and yes have had issues but once again dealer is amazing. Had a ballast issue day one. Took it in to find out the valve got shut closed some how. Quick fix there, lol. Had another issue of water into the boat. Found out rooting around in the boat together that the fitting came off from the sub floor to plug-n-play. Changed the fitting out for me after hours.

Guess just saying that have had issues but have a dealer with awesome guys that take care of the issues and explain things so have a better understanding of it. Hopefully your dealer will jump in and really make things better for you and fast.

Had seen that sometimes the starboard side only fills from one tube and not both. Fills eventually just takes twice as long. Doesn't happen all the time though. Was recommended if see it again to stop and restart as maybe one pump is working too hard and "stealing" the water from the other. Not sure if the 2021 have dual fill still or just single but if dual might be this for you?

when you spend the kind of money we are spending on boats these days expectations are through the roof, so when something isn't perfect as it should be, frustration replaces elation and joy of ownership goes right out the door. there is a reason for the statement of the two happiest days in a boat owners life.....

My previous boat was a brand new Tahoe Q5....one of the cheaper runabouts you can get. Never had an issue with it over the 15years I had it,but it didn’t have all of the various systems like these tow boats have either.....
              Touch screens
              PDMs
              Multi audio amps
              Duel battery with isolator
              Ballast pumps, bags,etc
              Led speakers...
              Heated seats
              Heat vents
              Powered towers
The list goes on and on

Each added component increases probability of a failure or installation/procedure issues

Good Luck. Hope you get resolution soon and if you move onto another boat, hope it goes flawless for you.....

I completely agree with this, I don't see all of this gadgetry working in ten years. Boats across all brands will be like European cars, buy new, and sell it before the warranty is up because they will be too expensive to fix.(The only brand that I can think of that is still keeping it somewhat simple is Sanger) After the warranty is up, prices are going to drop like rocks.
Maybe it's just me, but if I dropped 160k on a boat, the dealer better be coming and picking it up to do service, or at least a mobile tech. Pay 160k for a boat then have to take it to the dealer multiple times for warranty work. Crazy.
How are they not testing these boats before they are even shipped out the door? Being in manufacturing , it wouldn't be that hard to have a pool large enough to sit the boat in, verifying motor operation, ballast operation, among other things. All of the things in the OP's post could have been checked out before the boat even left the facility, with such a setup. Two 5-ton cranes could easily put the boat into a test pool for operation.

And probably the reason Sangers market share in the industry has dropped like a boulder!

Agreed, but I would also look at their dealer network. Cant speak to the rest of the country but I know in our market the dealer isn't great on backend of the sale and we end up taking them in on trade. The dealer in N Idaho was carrying them and refusing to do warranty work on them lol(dealer is since out of business). Im sure there are some good dealers for Sanger but not around here.

Yah, but freeheel, they make a 20' barefoot boat that you can slam a 575 in... Just in case you want to tow a flock of water skiers and catch some bitching air on a rough lake.

Lol. Most of those are still with their owners. We take in a lot of 215 Surfs that are only a year or two old from Dennis Dillon. Used to get some from Olingers but they went under. Hard to believe they couldn't make it in this economy....especially where they were located.

didn't know olingers but dennis dillon bought up every brand not spoken for when they started selling wakeboats back in 2010ish. bought every used boat from slc to seattle to "own the market". left them with quite a few gems from wakecraft and epic. have the best location in the valley on the 84 imo. free advertising. I think they were part of the nail in the coffin that sank WSP into the hole in the wall they have become.

I had to sign up and say something on this topic . I disagree with the boat being a POS. There are two things going on here and it kind of sucks that dealers can have such a big impact on the future sales of a good product. If the dealer doesn't take care of what they are supposed to before delivery there will ALWAYS be problems with the latest and greatest new boat, car or anything else you buy.

When I bought my 2005 24V the dealer scheduled the delivery for a Friday and had me meet them at the lake the Monday before delivery. They knew there would be issue's and wanted to address them before I took delivery of the boat, and there were problems. We went through everything several times and some issue's were not found the first time we used it. That boat has not had an issue for the remaining 14 years. A 2021 boat has so many electrical and mechanical components working together it is nearly impossible for these things to harmoniously work together without tweaking. A friend of mine is a skipper for a 100 million dollar yacht and they have a crew do sea trials for weeks before delivery.

If you want a boat that doesn't have any issue's buy one with 20 hours on it and all of the bugs should be worked out. Even then, if it's a new design there will be problems, It's the price you pay to have the latest and greatest. But I can promise you, it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is, if you buy the newest model of anything you will be one of the guinea pigs for the future buyers, I am dealing with this on my new truck (8,000 miles and has been in the shop 5 times).

If it were me, I would spend an entire day using every feature of the boat several times and put the boat through a rigorous testing session and then have any issue addressed so when you do take your family out, it all works out for you. It's a small price to pay to have a problem free future not to mention you get very familiar with your new toy.
