    Power tower issue

Hey guys! A buddy has a 17’ Z3 that he’s having issues with the tower lowering. It is an E2 power tower and when we put the red key in and push the lower button it disengages and lowers about an inch and kinda sounds like it may be binding up on something. There is a resettable breaker next to it that has popped out as well but once you power cycle the battery switch it resets and you can bring it back up.
Has anybody had any issues with this on there boats? Any tips? Seems pretty straight forward to use so I’m not sure what’s going on.
    Thanks!

Haven't had an E2 issue yet beyond some stripped threads for the panels. Pretty sure there's an electric motor for both sides of the tower. If ones not keeping up with the other could cause amp load to go up.

Kool-aid or Jason would be the others to weigh in on it. I'll be at the shop tomorrow. Feel free to reach out.

Hey Freeheel! Thanks for the reply.
I popped the access panels off and it looks like the port side motor has crapped the bed. it’s not making any sound when the up/down button is pushed. Pretty weird because it has literally not been used once since the boat was bought with 5 demo hours on it. I’m going to dig into it tomorrow afternoon and figure out if it’s even getting power and go from there. I’ll shoot you a call if I have some questions along the way. Thanks man!

Did some more digging into the tower issue today and it appears the starboard motor has indeed died.
Im wondering if anyone has removed and replaced one and can give me the rundown on the procedure. It seems pretty straightforward, there is a bolt on the rear and a bolt that holds the ram onto the tower joint. I didn’t attempt to remove it yet because I don’t have the replacement yet and the tower is locked up and is usable as is. I’ll post a pic for all you fellow boat junkies.
