So I finally decided to replace the steering cable in my 2013. After reading the forums on the issues in the swap I waited aslong as possible. To my surprise I had no issues, took about an hour with the help of a buddy. I cut the old cable twice, once in the front by the heater core and one by the ballast pumps only to shorten it so I didn't wrestle with the length pulling through. I ran the new cable up in the dash out the front then tapped the new end to the old cable and pulled through above gas tank. Slid right through with no problem. The only difficul part was getting to the bolts under the engine and the rudder but removed batteries to get more access. Over all way easy and nothing like many posts discussed with the top of the fuel tank.
Just wanted to share that it can be done fairly easy and a buddy!!
