I used it a little to turn around for a down surfer, and that was pretty cool. I will share more next Monday after we return from a long weekend of boating. As for the shirt - it's a West Coast Tige Reunion shirt! Coincidence that it matches the boat.Germaine Marine

Nothing major coming for 2021 so no need to put off getting a boat now if your dealer has a nice 2020 sitting. We have been outfitting EZ drive thrusters on stuff for a while. Just did a 23RZX last week. Same thruster etc.Germaine Marine

I’m not sure I understand your question. Just about every stern thruster I have ever seen is the same, with the ability to assist in maneuvering the stern to port or starboard. As Germaine Marine said above, it’s similar to EZ Thrusters. A couple of the other large boat manufacturers are already using them. I would recommend going on their site and taking a look. https://www.ezdrivethruster.com/Last edited by D&P Powell; 06-02-2020, 11:03 AM.

I just don't see how a thruster is needed. I mean its a 25 foot boat not a yacht. My 14 year old just received her boating license and I taught her how to dock our 25ZX last weekend. I guess if it comes on the boat why not but I wouldn't be paying 5K for a thruster I'd buy 5K worth of surfboards!Last edited by akdoc; 06-02-2020, 01:50 PM.

I think you have a point on docking. It’s doable without thrusters for sure - just learn your boats nuance.
I will say that at low speeds, vdrive boats steer like a drunk person in a crosswalk. I can see value in being able to spin quickly in a tight marina with a lot of wind. My boat will absolutely not turn if you lose too much momentum.
It’s like seat heaters and wake surf remotes - need em? Nah. Buy a towel. Want em? Hell yes.

We have a tight launch ramp that requires a backwards-left turn to exit the ramp area. Since my boat doesn't go backwards and to the left, I pull it off with a quick spin and exit. When the ramp is busy and/or the wind is blowing, it can get a little messy. I think a stern thruster would be helpful in these situations.
