    2019 R21 additional ballast

I am trying to improve the surf wave a bit more by adding some hard ballast (not wanting to deal with additional water ballast at this time). I have about 350 pounds of additional ballast to place in the boat. We only surf regular so the ability to switch sides is unimportant to us. Given this, what would be the ideal placement and the corresponding TAPS3 settings? I am mainly interested in lengthening the pocket. Given my understanding of how TAPS3 works, my sense is that I should put all of the additional weight in the port/aft area (which should also allow me to deploy less of the surf tab?). Does that sound right to maximize the benefit of the additional ballast given we only surf regular?

On a related but separate topic, I just installed Fresh Air Exhaust and I notice that surf wave is noticeably "dirtier". The installation is straight forward and doesn't really leave room for adjustment so I don't think that's the issue, but has anyone else noticed a similar issue? Thanks!

I know on my '17 when I had 500 lbs additional lead it was recommended to put the lead 350 lbs on the surf side and 150 lbs on the other side. So in your case maybe 200 and 100? If I recall it the boat liked 11.4 to 11.7 on the speed along with Taps 2 at 3-4 and Taps 3 at 3. That's with the rest of the stock ballast all at 100% and a stock prop.

I have a similar boat as you but with TAPS2 only. If I want to lengthen the pocket I put weight in the bow or adjust the TAPS2 so that the bow rides lower. With you having the addition of TAPS3 this may not apply. I have limited experience with TAPS3. But just throwing it out there as it may work with your setup.
