    Converting to Fuel Injection ??

I have a 95 Merc Mag Tourn Ski 350, looking to convert to fuel injection. Thoughts ? Has any one made the conversion and what was the outcome?

    Thank in Advance.

What were you thinking? One of those Holley kits?

I have been looking into this as I sold my Tige and got a restoration project. From what I have gathered so far is that aftermarket can be done but is rather expensive. Two options I have kept is taking a complete motor from a salvage yard and having a tuner unlock the ECM and switch it to open loop or buying a wrecked boat on the cheap and keeping the engine and trashing the boat.

Its going to be costly going aftermarket and even more if you get merc parts. My initial thought was a totaled boat and pull everything you need off the engine. Bad part is a sunk boat will damage most of the items you need. This is a tough situation no matter how you slice it.
        Oh Yeah!

True! I knew i would spend some money, return on the investment in fuel reductions...You hit the throttle and its like flushing a toilet and not to mention the carb lag.
            Thx for the input.

To do this with Mercruiser stuff, you MUST HAVE A ROLLER CAMSHAFT TO FIT THE PROFILE OF THE ECM FUEL CURVE. Do not attempt it with a flat tappet camshaft. In other words, the engine in your boat now would not run correctly using modern mercruiser EFI without changing the camshaft. You also have to add a crankshaft position sensor (which means you need to change the front timing cover and add the reluctor wheel to the crank snout so the sensor can read where the engine is), change the distributor etc etc. You can use the Holley Sniper TBI kit and add the O2 sensor in the exhaust but literally, it's way easier to just change the engine as a complete package. A fantastic way to improve your throttle response and fuel economy is swap in an MSD marine distributor, PN 83606, an Edelbrock marine carb and an Edelbrock intake manifold. Mercruiser EFI, of which I have two intake manifolds, computers, injectors and complete engines just unassembled, takes some doing to convert.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

Awesome! thanks for the input, I have a buddy who is an engine guy and he pretty much just described what you said, he mentioned possibly changing the heads as well. Is there a Monsoon out there of sale.???

Not sure if this setup would help your search? Found it on my local Craigslist.
