    carpet

Was out at the lake yeaterday having a great time when all of a sudden my sister in law's friend on a PWC came by & thought it would be cool to spray us. Well, she did a wonderful job of getting about 50 gallons of water in our boat! Needless to say buy my reactions,,,, she took off to the boat ramp & got the (&^&^$$ @#@$# out of there. I have the cover off the boat today drying it out & went to check it at lunch. It's still a little wet, but it also has a nasty smell!!!!!!! Any ideas as to how to get the stench out?
BTW, I'll deal with the idiot acting like a moron later.

You could try steam cleaning it....I would think just letting the sun dry it out will help the odor the most but maybe you have nastier water than most.

    PWC suck!

Sorry guys, have to chime in on this one.

That was pretty stupid of the PWC rider to drench the boat. However, not all PWC owners suck. I personally own PWC and have for many years. There are as many irresponsible PWC owners as there are irresponsible boat owners. Please don't let this experience taint all PWC owners.

As for the stench, I'd recommend going to the neighborhood hardware store and picking up some Humi-Dry. It comes in a Big Gulp size plastic container with a bunch of little beabang chair beans that absorbs the water. It's mainly used for basements, but it's supposed to also absorb the mildew smell. You can leave it in the boat with the cover on. Just make sure to empty out the water it absorbed before moving the boat.

Damp-Rid, not Humi-Dry. The Orange men (Home depot) may not know what you are talking about without the correct name. They may not know regardless.

Good thing you did not have any cameras, cell phones, ipods, etc. get ruined.

I cant stand it when people spray boats like that wether it be on a PWC or a wakeboard. There are way too many valuables inside a boat.

After the carpet drys, try Febreeze. It works really well to get the odor out of material. They have several different fragrences, but all work well.

I use it on my bullet proof vest to get the sweat smell out, because we can't wash them and it works awesome.

              Good luck,
