When my buddy winterized his boat he sat out a bunch of mice poision food or w.e... they gathered it all up thinkin it was food to store for the winter. They stuffed it so tite in one of his intakes he cant force it our or anything. Hes going to have to replace it. Kinda sucks. haha

We have spiders in our boat houses in the southeast that poop and leave black spots on the boats if you don't use your covers.
We have swallows in the corners of the boat house but usually don't make any messes.

We use to have thousands of spiders in our boat house and inside the lift covers. We then decided to get the boat house, garage and cottage sprayed by an exterminator. If we use to get 1,000 spiders there are now only 10 if that. Then we spray the posts and the inside of the canvas cover of the boat lifts with Home Defense. There are no spiders on the lifts anymore. I would recommend it to anyone. Just spray when the boat is out and you will be satisfied.

We have lots of black widows through out the garage & scorpions that like to play hide & go seek everywhere too.

We ordered some killer spay mix last year, borrowed an employees high pressure sprayer to reach the top of our boat house, it seemed to work about a month. I guess a monthly exterminator will be the only answer unless I break down and get a high tech sprayer.

I had the same problem under my carport also. I duct taped the area where they like to build nests.
