Where to buy a steering cable?

The dealer's price is $135 for the steering cable but I know a lot of people buy online for a lot cheaper, anyone have a good site? Also does anyone know the model # for a 2003 21i steering cable? This will be the first major repair I will attempt myself. Hope it goes well.

On an I drive it seems to be a fairly easy swap. A V drive is a bit stickier. You should be fine.

Here is where I ordered mine. It seems the price from your dealer is better, but make sure you are not getting the older cable from them.

The model number is written on your cable close to the rudder. If it is marked SSC134XX, you will want the upgraded cable SSC154XX.

That price seems about right. Racks are more than rotary. Just search around I think I used wholesale marine last time I did it.

I just bought the cable frome the dealer. I looked at mine first, popped up the floor board and everything is right there, easy to reach. Looks like an easy job. The cable was a 21' cable so the dealer said to stick with that. Thanks for all the replies. Love this site!
