    Considering a 2002 21V, suggestions?

Hey all, I am looking at a 2002 21V in the Ft Worth area, the guy has it listed as a 22V but according to what I have found they didn't make a 22 untill 2003, the trialer also has 21V on it, is it a 21V ?

Also the owner (sounds like a nice guy) indicated that he wasn't sure what the hours are, thinks about 300 but doesn't know where the hours meter is, don't all the Tiges have one? where is it?

I've attached a picture and would appreciate any suggestions, it looks really clean and sounds like the owner has been good about regular maintenance and care. It has a newer interior, and he just de-winterized it and put it on the water it started up good and ran out good (according to him).

    Thanks for the advise!

I used to own the same boat. Definitely a great boat. The dash guage on the left side has an hour meter on it, I am pretty sure, but would need a more close up pic of it to be sure that is the Faria guage that has about 75 functions to it. Once you learn to use the guage, it is very cool. I think the engine also has an hour meter on it, but I think you need special equipment to read it.

    Yes, it is a 21V.

My 2002 had a different tower, and I bought it late in 01. So make sure it is not actually an 01 model. That tower has a tendency to crack at the joints, so inspect it carefully under the pads as well. Consider replacing it as soon as you can before it takes itself out of commission during prime boating season.

The wakeboard wake is very good with a little weight up front. The surf wave can be outstanding.
    Be excellent to one another.

Ok thanks for the info., I'll have him look a little closer. Hoping I can get him to a good deal on it, they seem to be worth about $25K from my research.

Say can you fit this big dog in standard garage it measures 106" wide and is the 8' door, about 26 feet deep?

Getting that boat in an 106" door is going to be way tight. Better take a ruler and be good at getting just 1-2 inches on either side, it it fits at all. IIRC, the beam on the boat alone is 102".

25K would be too much, IMO. Looks like it does have tower speakers, does it have Perfect Pass?

I have the a 2001 21V and love it! It throws a great surf wake.

There is no hour meter. You have to take it to a shop that has a machine that they plug into the engine that reads the engine hours.

When I bought mine, I paid for an inspection where they also read the hours.

Actually it does have a dash mounted hours meter... Thanks to "talltigeguy" I was able to instruct him to go through the "Faria guage" on the left of the dash, and he discovered, to his surprise, it only has 165 hours. Oh and it turns out it is actually a 2001, per the title that the bank has. The guy selling it is very nice but obviously not much for details.

He said the guy he bought it from 4 or 5 years ago only used it a few times??? and he had never known how to verify the hours up to today. So good news on the hours, and the year doesn't make alot of difference, according to NADA the values are the same. Also, it is a 21V for sure, not a 22V.

Yes, it has Perfect Pass and a 3,400 watt, 3 amp stereo system, and nice tower speakers, and a subwoofer in behind the dash, he said you can really hear and feel it, so probably pretty nice system. It also has a heater for driver with a passenger heater tube hookup.

I think we are down to about $23,500 or $24,000 and I am goint to pull the trigger, I've been looking around for a couple of weeks, and short of going to the east or west coast this looks like the best deal for what i want to spend and isn't 1,000 plus miles from Wichita, KS.

THanks guys, I appreciate all of your suggestions and comments, and any more you have!

I was mostly concerned with the surf wake when I was considering buying mine. Here are a few pics of my surf wake.

I have 1000 -1200 lbs in the rear surf locker and 400 lbs under the bench seat & about 150lbs in the bow (prob not needed). Going 10-11 mph with taps between 3-4

I feel like a freakin' genius now.

                  Glad we could help.

That surf wave looks tremendous, Jason!

I might not trust the Faria guage completely, but that is for sure the original 'type' that was there as an option on some boats. Jason's boat must not have come with that same guage. I think they upcharged me $600 or something for it, but it has water temp, depth and all.
