what brand of RCA cables do you have??? wet sounds is a high performance marine audio company so if you use crappy wiring it will cause problems. Like hissing and ticking and cracking.

You may want to invest in some high dollar cables and see if thats a quick fix.

Please give us some additional info on your system and under what conditions you hear this ticking. In many cases, the noise is allowed into the system at no fault of the stereo. There are ways to isolate and eliminate the noises, some as simple as make proper adjustments to the amp's gain, some by a simple relocation of the the head-unit power and ground, and in some cases, adding a small CAP (capacitor) to the offending non-stereo component.

                Ticking

We have had problms with spark plug waires causing a sound like that and also in one instance a bad alternator. We had loose spark plug wires that were causing an arc that somehow made noise in the stereo, knew it was tied to the engine because it changed with RPM. The alternator was harder to find but finally figured it out by popping the belt off and running the einge briefly. The noise went away so we replaced the alternator. When do you hear the sound, what else is going on, what equipment did you remove,/replace while you did the job?

                We need more clues....
