As noted in the other thread, I didn't see the sticker on the drum. I'm hoping it's liquid dinos since the engine is still in its break-in period. I'll move to synthetic or a blend starting with the next oil change.

I don't think it matters, you purchased it from a certified PCM dealer and that's what they use in them at their facility. Keep your receipt and if anything ever happens you should be covered.

FWIW, I do use AMSOil Interceptor in my two stroke Rotax engines. Much less buildup on the RAVE valves and less expensive than the BRP product.

I put amsoil in everything except my diesel. I would run it in the diesel but 15 quarts is $$$$$$!

In the last 30 years I have used regular automotive oil. Had not problems at all. I Just change oil twice a year and use an automotive oil filter. Its interesting that marine power says no multi viscosity and then says ok to 20-50.
The diesel oils have a SL and SM rating. I use either Pennzoil or Castrol 15-40 oil depening which one is on special in the 5.7 Marine Power engine. Its the same engine that is used by PCM and Indmar. In previous GM engines I used nothing but 30W automotive oil and had no problems.
