V-drive bracket support

I have noticed in a couple of pictures That some Tige's have a bracket that supports the v-drive. As you can see in the below picture mine does not. Is it not needed or was it never installed?

Marine power decided that the extra support wasnt necessary for this smaller v drive.
The older walters v before the skiv was a lot heavier so gradully that support was not needed.
