You guys who use the Flitz Polish, do you still use wax? If so, do you polish or wax first?

Does Flitz Replace Wax?

After polish you need to cover with some sort of protection. A sealer will last you 3 to 6 months, and wax will last about 4 to 8 weeks. All dependent on numerous conditions... weather, where you have it stored etc. Most will wax, because that is the layer that will cause the water to bead and roll off.

All polishes are abrasive and take off a small amount of paint, clearcoat, gelcoat, etc... Polishes come in varying grits (for lack of a better term), i.e. medium, fine, super fine, or finishing polish. I can't speak to how abrasive Flitz is compared to other polishes. The amount it removes also depends on whether or not you are applying it by hand or with a buffer. From what I have read it is quite acceptable to polish a finish 2 or 3 times a year. If you are concerned about wearing through the gelcoat by using Flitz too often you could try to find a body shop who might let you borrow a paint thickness guage in the parking lot.
