Is your taps still working correctly and just the guage is broken?? I know it used to be a common problem for new drivers to hold the button too long and just blow the fuse at the battery. Had this happen to me several times with drivers who didn't pay attention. Check the fuse first . May not be your problem because taps will not work at all if this happens. Just check it out, it's worth your time instead of sending it to the dealer.

to change the gauge, 1/2-3/4 hr. @ $95 per/hr
the sender is about 2 hrs.
check to see if you have power and ground to the back of the gauge. check that both green wires are secured tight to the gauge. if all that is good and you know for sure the plate moves up and down, put a ohms meter across the 2 green wires while cycling the plate up and down. if the resistance changes then the sender is good and you have a gauge problem. did you try tapping on the gauge face? sometimes the needle will stick from lack of use.Greg Denton
