I had a Spartan tune on my Ford at one point. This M3 (late 90's early 00s) rolled up along side me with this window down and hat sideways lookin' at me.
I smoked him... literally. I blew so much smoke into his open window as I pulled away from him!

Clearly you're just a troll, but what you don't know probably on account of ignorance is that there is some truth to this. Particularly for just a boat towing vehicle.
If I didn't have mine paid off, I would probably be looking into getting the Ecoboost in the F-150. Hard for Ford to screw up a gasoline motor.
I'm sick of these small truck diesels constantly breaking down.
My 2003 C1500, 5.3, 3.73 gears was not enough truck to tow my RZ2 safely. Well it would get the job done, but we travel to the river alot and its a about 60-70 miles one way, and we didnt make that drive last year because it was not safe towing with that truck. Its a great feeling when you have more truck than boat!
The newer half tons have better susp, brakes, 5 & 6 speed transmissions, and that will get the job done!
Nobody have you ever towed with a diesel truck?
I prefer for the dog to wag the tail...not the other way around! That 2500 pulls the RZ2 like nothing...my 2010 silverado 1500...well it was fine on the smooth highways, but the bumpy country roads and fast breaking for deer....well, the 2500 is much better!

I'm not trying to flame up a truck war but what about towing the RZ2 was making you feel not safe in a 1500? And as far as the tail wagging the dog, what was the boat doing to your truck that was unstable or unsafe? I tow my boat with a 4Runner and it gets the job done safely. The truck is much slower to accelerate with the boat behind me but the trailer brakes work very well to keep it planted behind the truck when I need to get stopped in a hurry. I've also towed my boat with my one of my friends new Tundra and with another friends Dodge 3500. In the Dodge you barely knew there was a boat behind you when merging. It had much more torque and could accelerate much faster than my 4Runner can but it didn't feel like it stopped any quicker and it didn't feel any different in crosswinds either. With the 1500's what speed are you guys towing? I don't drive much faster than 65-70 on the highway due to the fact that mpg goes way down the faster I go above 60, I get 12.5 mpg at 65 mph. Maybe faster than 70 it might feel squirely but I haven't been faster than that with my rig. As far as climbing hills, I did pull up the grapevine hill outside of LA going north on I-5 on my move from TX to WA. I was able to maintain 60mph on the climb and felt very stable downshifting and maintianing speed on the downhill section on the other side.
I'm just asking what is making you guys feel unsafe about it? Obviously a big diesel is going to tow a lot easier getting up to highway speed and possibly on some steep wet ramps, but I've been on some steep wet ramps where dually diesel pickups got stuck in the water.
FWIW my 4Runner is the V8 rated to tow 7,000 lbs and my boat and trailer loaded up with cooler, regular daily supplies with boards and a full tank of gas is 6,600 lbs from a truck scale. I also added Timbren helper springs to keep the rear end from sagging.
2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

My 1500 was squatted bad (maybe the susp was worn out cause it towed all its life). When the susp is to soft for the load it gives an odd floating feeling. (maybe cause the front is higher than the back). The brakes would stop it just not very well. (i could tell this boat was much heavier than my 2008 BU VLX)Acceleration the truck had plenty of power IF you where at or above 3k RPM. (and that made the truck down shift all the time)It would hardly hold speed on flat growned with no wind at 60MPH. The wide tires on my trailer may add to it being harder to tow also.
nothing beats a diesel towing period.. HAving a truck thats heavier than the load its pulling is huge. THey brake better they pull better they handle better... =)

Amen, mine felt the same...I hated the constant hunting for gears on the highway. I got like 10-11 towing my old malibu ride and this 2500 gets me more like 14...but its only got 3k miles on it.
My 2003 Avalanche wasn't up to the task either for the 60 mile each way tow. It said it was rated to 6k lbs but even with the sweet 4 wheel disc surge brakes, it still took more than my diesel does to stop it. On Monday I learned the importance of having the right brakes when my surge brakes failed and all I had was the Allison transmission and truck brakes to stop the 6k lb load behind me from 75mph in a VERY short distance. Wow, scared the crap out of me! I'd say the newer 1/2 ton trucks are up to the challenge of these heavy RZ2's/4's but the early 2000's trucks were definitely not. The mfr's definitely got into a towing capacity war with the 1/2 and 3/4 tons and we all benefited.
