    Strapless Pylon???

My 2001 21i has a telescoping center pylon, Team Tige Watersports is what's on it, Ii think. Most pylons I've seen has a strap the attaches to the front nose somehow, but this one did not have one. I asked the original owner about it and he said one did not come with it. They were skiers, not boarders, so they never rasied it when they used it. I have been scared to use it in the up position fearing it will get ripped out of the boat.

He said it didn't need a strap, at least that it what the dealer told him. Could that be right?

How tall does the center pylon extend?

Have you thought about attaching just a high pole on to your center pylon?

i have never seen an extending pylon on a "i" series tige. normaly they are in the v-drives. those do have a a guide wire set up. i realy don't know how you would rig that up to work on an "i" series.

is the pylon black, and does it extend up about 2 1/2 feet and locks in place with a pin? we have a pile of those here that were removed when the boats were retro fit with towers. the reason i don't think the guide cable will work is, the pylon is so short the cable would run through the walk way between the winshield. i'd look into getting a regular pylon and buying a tower or airboom.

It is stainless, with a push in button(pin) to release and raise, then locks again in the up position. When raised the pole is about 7ft, plenty of room to get a guide wire to the front. But then again, one did not come with it and the original owner said it didn't need one. I'm at work but I'll work on a picture.

I do plan on getting a tower, but transmission issues are first on the list. I would still like to get one for it to be safe, but I can seem to find just the strap being sold.

Check out the pic of yllw20. He is in the Member Gallery. I have the exact same boat, but I have a white tower. I can get some pics, to your email, but that one is probably better. It says Tige right under the board racks. It looks pretty cool. I had quite a few people pull up next to me at the lake, and ask where I got it. ... I just wanted something different, and one weld was coming undone. So the dealership sent it back to Metcraft, they shipped a new one back (They may have fixed it, and then had a new powder coat put on) .... Either way, it is in perfect condition. It's still in the box.

I'm asking $1K OBO. I have seen the same tower, that people were selling for more. .... I want to make room in the garage. The price is similar to that of a "generic" tower (Monster). Let me know.
