I thought the AlphaZ folded forward like the Illusion.

Nope - folds aft and the springs hold it in place so that it doesn't rest on the seats.

Well then, If it was any taller, it would rest on the sunpad

I know that if the Bu Illusion was any taller, it would rest on the windshield.

For what it's worth...I'm 5' 10" tall...I've hit my head a few times on the speakers (pro-sounds)...it hurt like a son of a gun.

The only time I'm in danger of doing this is when I'm accessing the storage under the seats and raise up without thinking (aka ducking). In general use (walking around the boat), the tower/speakers don't get in the way. My brother-in-law boats with me a lot and he's 6'4". He does have to duck, but I don't recall him ever hitting his head. I think he's more aware of the tower being there since he sees it at eye level.
