Alright, I tried to search but I got lazy. I have an 08 Ve and it has right at 40 hours on it. Do I need to change the impellar before taking it out this year? If not when are you suppose to change it? Thanks for the help guys.

You do not have to change the impeller. However, as a safety precaution, the majority of us do change it just in case. The manual suggests that you change it every 200 hours from what I understand. -
I think you are fine. You will know the first trip out if not.

No need to swap out with only 40 hrs. I just replaced mine for the first time, just shy of 3 seasons. 246 hrs and it looked fine. Mind you, the fine print may read - "results not typical," or "results may vary!" The rubber fins maintained a slight arch to them from all of the work they do, however all of the rubber was is good shape, no cracks, tears or deteriation seen. I also have the water strainer set up on mine that filters out a lot of stuff/debris that would pass thru without it.I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!Comment

Here is my theory, if you even think you should then....you should. I change mine every year. I then take the one I just took out put in a baggy and keep it in the boat as safety back up.15 Escalade ESV-Black
