    Open Invitation

With boating season getting close here in Kentucky, I want to extend an open invitation to any of my fellow tigeowners. If you are in western Kentucky for any reason and want to take a ride on Kentucky Lake or Lake Barkley just give me a shout. I am always looking for excuses to hit the lakes.

If I'm out that way, I'll take you up on the offer...

Will hit you up if I am ever back that way. I grew up on that lake for 11 summers. I know it pretty well. Have done a couple of houseboats in the years past, but havent been there for 4-5 years.

You will be welcome. My brother-in-law has a houseboat at Eddy Creek.

I might head down that way with my 20V for a long weekend out of Chicago.
Lake Barkely and Kentucky lake are both lakes I have been on. I like Lake Barkely a little better. Both lakes are nice but a both soft bottom working lakes so the water is murky. My wife is spoiled with crystal clear water but for a long weekend Barkely fits the bill. I can't remember how far it is but I used to make most of that ride in my College days where once a month I had to head to Chicago for Marine Reserve Duty. Those where the days where I totaled my 69 Ford Galaxy and had to use my Street bike to make the commute 12 months a year.

Let me know if you do and we will meet up. That will make the population of 20v's a whole 2 that I know of.

AJ - Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley are great lakes! My family and I go out there to visit relatives and sail Kentucky Lake!

If I make it out there this summer, I'll give you a ring! Would love to cruise in a Tigé on those lakes!

                Cheers,

Is there a houseboat rental company on either lake?
My brothers live in Lexington and I always thought it would be fun to trailer down there for a week. Need a houseboat or cabin though, I don't want to pull the boat in and out all week.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Their are cabins and houseboats. http://www.eddycreek.com/ is a great place for cabins on Lake Barkely. http://www.greenturtlebay.com/ is a good place for houseboats. Their are others but, these are the ones I have dealt with. Check out http://www.kentuckylake.com/boating/rentals.shtml

Thanks! I'll hit ya up if we end up heading down. I always get sketched out on new, unfamiliar lakes. Having a local with knowledge is priceless.

Boating season in Florida is MUCH closer than KY.

Thanks AJ. Might have to take you up on it one of these days. If you or anyone is a bit further east, like in the DC area, come on out to Annapolis!
