    Tri Valley Marine No More...

For those of us in the SF Bay Area, it appears Tri Valley Marine in Livermore has shut its doors. Building sports a big sign announcing the future location of an electrical company. A web check shows their web page under construction, so hopefully they are in the process of moving to a different location?...

    We'll see...

I think we are going to see more and more of this in CA. The state is making it to hard to manage a business of such. The small guys and heck even the big corporate guys can not afford to run business in CA. Workmans comp, Liability Ins, TAXES!!!, and all the other crap is driving people out of CA. like it is the end of the gold rush.

It is not getting any better either. I think it is a effort to give CA. Back to Mexico.

Do they have a Tige Dealer in Mexico?

Well, unfortunately I think this closure was coming anyways. Just like Capital Water Sports, the end was near and the economy has been hit hard. Sacramento only have a handful of boat shops and when the major player filed for bankruptcy 1-2 years ago (Cope & McFedders sp??), they closed 5-8 shops in NorCal.

I use Liquid Wrenches in Livermore, even though they are a Moomba dealer. They service all brands, and do really good work.

The economy has really slammed the boating industry. The high costs like taxes, etc. make it hard for business, but the killer has been poor sales. Last year in AZ we lost the Tige, Supra, Moomba, Ski Centurian, Sanger, and Malibu dealers. Talking to people in the industry, many smaller parts and supplier companies have disappeared. This has hurt or made it harder for manufacturers like Tige. Luckily Tige has the forsight or luck to have their plant deal with Abilene. Whenever you can, support your dealer. You want them around in the future.

ha my spell check didn't even catch that haha

my on Capital Water Sports was the fact they had a very poor sales staff. There was one guy Brian who was on the ball back in 07 when I got my 20V.

From what I heard they canned him over some

From then on out they had some guys who just never followed through with anything. I even threw them some leads and they never followed through with any of them. Its a shame because they had to close up. I liked Tom he was a cool dude. Kevin talked allot but I really didn't have any issues with him as others did.

There was one guy there who I didn't like though. Can't remember his name but he got under my skin every time I saw him. Just plain didn't like the guy.

Conclusion is that, in the end, no matter what, all of us out here in my area now have to pay the price of the inconvenience when we need service done to our boats.

As a business owner myself I always feel the urge to move my company to another state as well. California is a joke with how difficult it is to op a biz out here.

It is unfortunate for you Cali guys with all the boat industries closing their doors.
In Oregon the only business that went under was a Malibu/Cobalt dealer in July of last year that was scamming the banks that he owed money to.
