New sound system speaker connection check

I am making the final connections to my upgraded sound system and want some verification that I have made the speaker connections correctly. We just had a new Wake Designs tower installed with a pair of their 6.5" tower speakers. The new head unit is a Sony 7715 with 3 set of preouts and 52 watts per channel. The 4 boat speakers are the stock Clarions and the amp is the 4 channel 640 watts max Clarion marine unit.
I am planning on hooking the tower speakers to two of the channels of the amp and the four boat speakers to two of channels of the head unit. The 4 boat speakers will be run 2 ohm since the 2 right speakers will be paired together and the two left speakers will be paired together for the rear channels. The tower speakers will be on the front channels to allow the fader to control from the tower speakers to the boat speakers. I do not have a sub at this time but may in the future that could be hooked up to the two channels left on the amp.
The goal is to have lots of noise up top and then average in the boat.
Any suggestions???????

Sounds like you're right on the money. You may find that your interior speakers have the ability to put out a lot more sound than the tower speakers since they're running at 2 ohms and getting roughly twice the power. But you can fade that out.

I have a similar setup. I'm running 4 interior speakers @ 2 ohms and 2 tower speakers, all from a 4 channel Diamond Audio amp.

You mean that you could hook the sub to the 2 preouts left on the head unit, not the amp, correct?

I'm sure you know, but make sure the cabin speakers are connected in parallel, not in series to maximize the amp power. I run a very similar setup, but I do have a sub. It works very well.

Do you have front speakers?

Yes I do have front speakers. This setup worked great this weekend. I do miss the sub though. I need to increase the bass a little, but all else worked great. Thanks for the replies.

I have my front speakers connected directly to the wires from the stereo (non-amplified). Did you do the same? I think it works fine. The front speakers are really not for much quality listening.

I hooked all the speakers up to the amp-tower on channels 1 & 2 and the 4 cabin speakers, in parallel, to channels 3 & 4 running 2ohm. Its nice to be able to fade from top to bottom and with the aux battery, you don't need to worry about power draining the starting battery.

Your boat does not have 6 cabin speakers total (2 in front and 4 in rear)?

Correct, 2 in the front and 2in the rear-all nestled between the dozen cup holders that Tige included in the shell. The designers must have been beer drinkers...
