Wow !! I can't believe that we are actually flying down to Texas in the morning for Wake the World. When Eddie & I were making plans a few years ago, we had talked about other states doing this and now it is a reality!
I truly feel that this is just the beginning of what the future holds. Alabama and Tennessee will happen next year and maybe a couple of others.
Everyday God puts people in our path we have an oppurutnity to bless and also people that will be a blessing to us. And sometimes God will put those people in your path so that great things can happen. WTW is a great example of this. The boat owners are getting as much joy from the experience as the kids, it is so awesome how that works!
WTW Texas was sooooooo much fun. I am so glad I was able to be a part of that. Ryan and his family did a great job. It was nice to meet everyone, Ryan and Greg and their families. And the other tigeowners that showed up. It was great to hear the kids talk to each other about how great their day on the lake was. It was also very emotional, I know our family didn't want to leave. Can't wait for next year. It's so much more than just a day on the lake for those kids. Seeing their faces and emotions when they achieve at something (even something as small as riding the tube, or riding on the surf board), words can't explain.
As an added bonus, I got to ride behind Ryan's sweet 22ve and watch Greg throw down a few hammers. Really can't wait to see this event grow.
How can I be racist when all of my assault rifles are black?
Very emotional day for me! I was on Torsten's (sp?) Tige and we were the first boat out. When we started to pull the first kids on the tube and they were smiling from ear to ear .... well... it was all I could do to keep it together. The reality that WTW has spread all the way to Texas (and getting ready to spread to AL & TN) is all just a little overwhelming!
It was great meeting Brett & his family. It is great to hear that it was emotional for others as well. If you ever do it once, you will be hooked!
WTW North Carolina still has the original volunteers! We haven't lost anyone after 3 years!
