Hey, looking for feedback on the ipod interface and it's usefulness with the Tige touch. Is it worth installing or should I settle for the mini plug standard option? Thoughts?

I have the Clarion CMD4 Head Unit and bought the CNET IPOD adapter to go with it. Plugged it into my NANO 3G and from the head unit I have control of all Ipod functions and at the remotes you can change tracks to select a different song. It works great.
The only issue we had is that with the 3G NANO it will charge the IPOD thru the CNET cable but if you have a 4G version or higher of the NANO you need to purchase an adapter to deal with Apple changing the pins used to charge the 4G and above IPODS.

If you have a 4G Nano you will also need a power adapter to deal with Apple changing the power pins. SCOSCHE makes one.

I used this setup last season and it worked like a charm. I used velcro to attach the iPod to the side of one of my amps so It was out of sight and easy to take out of boat when you want to use it elsewhere.

If the boat has the TigéTouch, it would have to be a 2010. The 2010 models are coming with the Clarion CMD6 source unit. The CMD6 has a USB interface that you would use your standard iPod cable with.
The interface is worth it for the driver to be able to control access to the music on the iPod via the touch screen while the iPod is cabled up in the glove compartment.

Something that Tige doesn't really promote...it also has the ability to push video from a source (iPod, video camera, etc.) to the TigeTouch display.
The input is under the dash on the helm. It is not easy to see but there are RCA inputs on top of the blue box.
Now, if I could only find (or fabricate) a video tracking device that would work with the Alpha Z tower and mount a video camera.
