First off I want to say I'm in no way starting this thread to bash Tige at all. I have been very pleased with the performance of my boat.

To start off I have been having an issue with my tower. Sometimes while riding in semi choppy waters I would hear this squeaking noise that sounded as if it was coming from within the tower tubing. Well I jumped up to find the source of this noise only to see that the tower welds up top were actually cracking or peeling apart. This was kinda scary because if this were to break off while pulling a rider I'm sure whoever may be sitting in the back seat may get a face full of tower. So right then and there I took off all my speakers and headed in. I have never pulled more than one rider at a time and no I have never pulled a tuber from the tower(and we wont even start up with the tubers right now! lol)

I always noticed that he tower has always moved side to side more than usual even before I had my sound installed. (BTW I have 6 speakers up there that weigh in at around 8 pounds each.)

Believe it or not Tige denied my warranty claim at first saying I had to many speakers on my tower. They said the warranty department only allowed 4 speakers max up there but never listed any weight limit regarding how much was actually allowed. Now how does that make any sense I asked myself?

So after speaking with Harvey about this I decided to write a letter explaining to the warranty department that saying 4 speakers was the max allowed on the tower, and in no way gives the right to have denied my claim. There are speakers out there that could weigh more than 4 allowed, and that my speakers were not that heavy to begin with. So to me it seemed they just didn't want to pay for a new tower. I mean were not only talking about a broken tower but a major safety issue here. Pleased to say that Harvey stepped up and got my tower warrantied. In the meantime I had to have the cracks welded so the issue didn't get any worse. As you can see in the pics the weld tracks are were the cracks were.

I had some pics of it with the cracks but you get the picture

I am however worried that with the new tower the same issue may happen again after another season. Has anyone else had this issue? Harvey says its a freak thing and I hope so. What sucks is I'm going to have to redo all the wiring and stuff to re-install the speaker wires and lighting power. Shouldn't be all that bad doing it over but sure is a pain to deal with.

Anyhow moving on... the seats. As many here know the seat skins IMO were made to thin. Causing the seams to stretch and rip apart. Not only that but other parts of the skins have just tore apart all together.

This has been a frustrating issue as it seems that Tige has been on back order for a long time. 7 to 12 weeks from what my dealer told me. Though it has been a year since any progress has been made to get the skins on my possession. Doesn't help that my dealer went out of biz so now to get this done I have to find an upholstery company who can do the work. I'm happy there are replacing the skins and paying for it but it really wont have that factory finished look if you know what I mean. I guess anything is better than the way it looks now. Everyone always says "hey nice boat" then they see the seats and they are like "damn man, what the?" Ya I get sick of saying how its going to be repaired and all. But hey at least this season it should all be fixed up the right way.

Ok now.. the gel coat. Now I know that Tige doesn't cover spider cracking or anything like that, but what if chunks are falling out? On the bow I have some major sized pieces falling out and I'm really not sure whats causing it? Could it be choppy water? IDK? But is there an easy fix or is this going to get worse?

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

I am hoping this does not get any worse. Can I fix this or should I ask Tige to fix this? Is this an unusual problem?

Lastly the trailer. I know this has nothing to do with Tige. But I'm kinda screwed as well seeing on how DHM went out of biz to! My last day of the season last year the tread on my tire decided to peel off. Damaging my fender and knocking off my diamond plate and really bowing out my fender. As if I needed this of all things to happen.

As you can see it did some damage. Now I don't have a Tige dealer within at least 100 miles and now no one to help with my trailer issues. What to do?... What to do?

At least Tige is helping me out with the tower and seats but its still going to cost me some money in gas towing the boat to a dealer to get this all handled not to mention I have no idea what to do about the trailer issues. I was thinking about getting that new tower they have on the 2010 models but I don't like how low they are. Speakers would hang way to low just like on my buddies Malibu. Would want to hit my head on the speakers like I have so many times on my buddies boat. Guess I'll give the replacement tower a shot and see if it holds up.

Any feedback would be great. BTW I have been working like crazy and it's been a while. Hope all are doing well
Im having the same issues!!! Did you buy your boat from Capital Watersports? Heres a good example of the seat bullshit. I have tears along the bottom of my seats. I take very good care of them but tige said thay would warranty 1 of the 2 seats, citing the second seat damage was wear and tear!!! They have the same issue. They just dont want to pay!! Tell them sorry the economy sucks, but I bout my boat from them in the same economy and im probably suffering worse. If you cant afford to do business profesionally, then get out!!

I have a really hard time accepting the theory that water causes these ripping and tearing issues on the 06+ Tiges. Either it is harsh cleaners or really fat people with small feet causing problems.
I agree that a boat and the interior should be able to stand getting wet. We normally toweled off in the boat I had for 14 years and the interior was in excellent shape after I identified why my rear bench seams split. It was not water but 200 lb people stepping into the boat full weight on 1 foot at first and near a seam. Once we put a throw cushion to step on or they come in from the back and slide in on their butts. The replacement stern coach lasted 11+ years before I traded for my 20V. We used Vinyl cleaners and Vinyl protectant that you would buy at Walmart. We used ArmorAll but quit using it because the seats where too slippery.

Yeah I got it from Capitol. They Bk last year I think. I would say instead of getting upset write Tige a letter explaining your situation. I dealt with Harvey and so far he has been a big help. I would agree its bs on the wear and tear part tho.

Those 06 & 07 skins were garbo and Tige knows it. Boats should be made to last a while and definitely more than a year or two even with allot of use.

I live in the sac area. Mostly ride the river or Folsom. The river is way better to ride in tho

            Seats and tires

Just thought I would offer my .02 on these topics. First I have been in the boat business since 1981. Lots of problems with boat trailer tires over the years and I strongly believe that the number one problem is that the tires and wheels are not balanced. When a tire is not balanced it heats up and flies apart. Also can cause problems with interiors and anything bolted or screwed into a boat. Imagine constant vibration all the time you are driving. Wood screws tend to back out and things tend to come loose. Just my opinion.

Seats and cleaners, while not wanting to launch into a debate on different cleaners... I believe that most cleaners and protectorants are "OK" however I believe problems arise from switching brands. All cleaners use a different formula and mixing them can cause problems. Just my opinion.

I agree with your tire description, however the tread just peeled away and the tire was fairly new.

As far as the seats The skins are to thin. All my other buddies boats are just fine with theirs. Don't get me wrong they still have your occasional tears but their seams are not pulling apart like all of our 07s and 08s. I have owned an 07 20V and a 07 RZ2 with the same issues. When Tige sent me replacements the skins are clearly thicker and seem more durable.

I have always used what Tige recommended to clean them with so its not like I switched brands from the start. Although I do agree with what your saying.

the seats have been replaced every other year on my 07RZ2...
                replace in 08 after 300+ hours....not in 09 with just 90 hours....replace again after 200 hours in 2010

the seats are way too thin and peel apart at the silver. I plan on keeping this boat for another 4-5 years, but im sick of replacing the skins every year or other year

other than that, love the boat

Well the back seat skins came via UPS today Now I got every piece of interior skin that needs replacement in hand.

Just waiting for the new tower to come. The good ol boys at Tige said it had to be shipped in a crate. Now comes the task of taking all of my speakers, wires, and lights off and replace the tower. Somehow I don't think this will be an easy fix with the tower. I could be wrong though,

Has anyone replaced a tower before?

Tige really didn't say I had to ship the old one back but I'm sure they do want it. If they don't Ima melt that baby down and recycle
